Summer temps to return to Netherlands after rainy weekend
Sun lovers in the Netherlands will have to endure another weekend of cool and rainy weather. But after that, summer will make a come back, according to the KNMI. Thermometers could climb to summer values above 25 degrees Celsius from Monday, the meteorological institute expects.
Today and tomorrow will be mostly dry with periods of sunshine. Maximums will range between 18 degrees on the north coast and 25 degrees in some places in the south on Wednesday. On Thursday, more places will hit a summery 25 degrees, but there will be more clouds, and the chance of showers increases.
Friday and Saturday will be overwhelmingly cloudy and wet, with maximums no higher than 23 degrees.
Dry, increasingly sunny, and warm weather will return to the Netherlands from Sunday. The meteorological institute expects maximums to climb to around 27 or 28 degrees early next week.
Later next week, the KNMI expects temperatures around or slightly above the long-term average for the time of year and sunny periods. “There is about a 40 percent chance of showers, but also many dry moments.” The long-term average maximum for late July is 23.3 degrees.
