Record 276 Dutch athletes participating in Paris Olympics
The Netherlands is sending 276 athletes, excluding reserves, to the Olympic Games in Paris next week. That is a new record, sports organization NOC*NSF told NU.nl.
The previous record dates from 2021, when Oranje participated in the Summer Games in Tokyo with 275 athletes, excluding reserves.
The Dutch team for Paris consists of 162 women and 114 men. The athletics team counts the most Dutch Olympians at 47, also a record. The rowers and hockey players follow, with 33 participants each.
Breakdancer India Sardjoe is the youngest Olympian, at 18. The oldest participant is dressage rider Hans Peter Minderhoud, who is 50.
The Olympic Games in Paris start next Friday and end on Sunday, August 11.
