KNVB expects 15,000 Dutch fans in Munich at Euros 2024
The KNVB expects 10,000 to 15,000 supporters to come to Munich for the Dutch national team's round of 16 against Romania at the European Championship. At least 7,000 fans have tickets for Tuesday's match at the Allianz Arena. The Dutch team's three group matches in the European final round attracted more than 40,000 Dutch supporters to Hamburg, Leipzig, and Berlin.
The KNVB no longer has tickets for the Dutch national team's round of 16. All available tickets for matches up to and including the final have been assigned to club card holders. If extra tickets become available, they will go to club card holders who have been drawn and are on the waiting list. Tickets for the round of 16 against Romania are still being offered on the Internet, often for 350 euros and more.
Supporters of the Dutch national team can visit a fan zone at the Olympiapark on Tuesday afternoon. The KNVB is still investigating whether fans can walk together to the Allianz Arena before the match. The distance from the city center to the stadium is so great that there has not yet been a fan march in Munich during this European final round.
Dutch fans made an impression with their Oranje March for the three group matches at the European Championship. Tens of thousands of supporters walked behind an orange double-decker in Hamburg, Leipzig, and Berlin, singing and dancing towards the stadium, where the team of national coach Ronald Koeman played against Poland, France, and Austria. They attracted the attention of many media from home and abroad.
In Munich, it is about a two-hour walk from the city center to the Allianz Arena. The KNVB is now examining, together with the Munich authorities, whether there are any alternatives to an Orange March. The match between the Netherlands and Romania starts on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
