One dead, seven hurt in separate car crashes in Noord-Holland and Zuid-Holland
Police were investigating separate car crashes that left one person dead in one incident, and seven hurt in another. The 73-year-old driver of a passenger car died in a head-on collision with a truck near Broek in Waterland, Noord-Holland on Friday evening.
This happened on the N247, a few kilometers from the connection with the A10 ring road. The driver of the passenger car was from the municipality of Waterland, the police reported.
The truck driver was uninjured. There were no other passengers in the vehicles.
Other road users immediately provided assistance, the police reported. Victim support services were arranged for them. The police are still investigating how the accident could have happened.
Seven people were also injured in a head-on collision between two cars in Maasland, Zuid-Holland on Saturday. These were all of the occupants of both vehicles.
The injured people were rushed to area hospitals. The police are investigating how the accident could have happened.
