One dead, one injured found on Almere bike path

The police found a body and a seriously injured person on a bike path in Almere on Monday morning. Investigators were at the scene trying to figure out what happened, police in the province of Flevoland said on Twitter.

Emergency services crews were dispatched to the Osirispad in Almere at around 8:20 a.m., after authorities received a report about the two people on the path. Upon arrival, they found the 47-year-old man dead at the scene, a badly-injured 46-year-old man.

Neither of the two has a known fixed address or hometown, police said. Police did not immediately release details about the cause of death or the nature of the wounded man’s injuries.

The injured person was unable to communicate with the police present at the scene. Paramedics took the man to a hospital by ambulance.
