Temperatures up to 26 degrees on Sunday; code yellow alert for thunderstorms
Temperatures are expected to rise up to 26 degrees Celsius during the day on Sunday, according to the KNMI. A code yellow warning was issued for parts of the country in the evening due to heavy rain and wind.
The day is expected to start off cloudy with a few showers in the west of the Netherlands moving to the northeast.
During the day, in the south, east and middle of the country the warm temperatures will be accompanied by rays of sunshine. The remaining parts of the Netherlands are likely to see rain and clouds on Sunday. Chances of rain are at around 80 percent.
For Sunday evening, the KNMI has issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms with hail and heavy gusts of wind in the west. In the rest of the country, a moderate breeze from the south is expected.
Temperatures can sink down to ten degrees overnight on Sunday.
Next week, the KNMI forecast a mix of sun and showers with temperatures remaining slightly under twenty degrees throughout the week.
