Mix of sunshine and rain in NL this week

For the rest of this week, the Netherlands can expect a mix of sunshine and rain, with a chance of strong winds, Weeronline expects. Wednesday and Thursday will still be relatively warm, but on Friday temps will drop.

Wednesday's morning sunshine will give way to clouds from the west as the afternoon continues. The western parts of the country can also expect showers, and maybe even a thunderstorm in the northwest. The south-to-southwesterly wind will be moderate to strong.

Despite the rain and wind, Wednesday is still a warm day, with maximums climbing to around 20 degrees in the west, 23 degrees in the central parts of the country, and up to 24 degrees in the east. Maximums for late September are usually around 17 to 19 degrees.

Overnight, showers will cross the country, starting in the west. Strong winds are expected, with gusts up to 80 kilometers per hour.

Thursday will start out sunny, with a moderate to strong southwesterly wind. In the afternoon, cloud cover will increase from the west, bringing showers with it. Maximums will range between 17 and 20 degrees. Heavy showers are expected for Thursday night.

Friday will see regular sunshine breaking through some high clouds, with a few showers expected in the west and south. The southwesterly wind will be moderate over day, but turn to the northwest and increase in strength as the evening approaches. Maximums will be noticeably cooler than the past days, at around 14 degrees
