Remnants of Hurricane Lorenzo to bring buckets of rain to NL Friday
The remnants of Hurricane Lorenzo are expected to make landfall in the Netherlands on Friday, possibly dumping rain across much of the country. The storm gathered strength growing to a Category 5 storm, before approaching the Azores as a Category 1 hurricane with sustained winds of about 150 kilometers per hour.
From there, it is expected to reach Ireland on Thursday and the Netherlands on Friday, according to weather website Weerplaza. The country could be subjected to over 10 millimeters of precipitation with winds of about 50 km/h.
The Netherlands is likely to have a calm, partly sunny day on Saturday as the remains of the storm continue on to Germany. Prediction models are still developing for Sunday, where either rain or sun is possible.
The high temperature over the weekend is expected to be in the mid-teens.
