Amsterdam the 32nd Bucket List destination in the world

Amsterdam is the 32nd bucket list destination in the world, according to a ranking by global travel site Big 7 Travel. The site surveyed 1.5 million people about the destinations they most want to visit before they die. Bali in Indonesia came in first place, followed by New Orleans in the United States and Kerry in Ireland.

"This charming 17th-century canal-covered city has heaps of interesting sights that will keep you busy for an entire weekend, or even longer", the site says about Amsterdam. "Forget about cliched images of smoke shops and gaudy red lights... From floating flower markets to bohemian neighborhoods, this city has it all."

No other Dutch city made it onto the ranking.

The top 10 Bucket List destinations, according to Big 7 Travel:

  1. Bali, Indonesia
  2. New Orleans, USA
  3. Kerry, Ireland
  4. Marrakech, Morocco
  5. Sydney, Australia
  6. The Maldives
  7. Paris, France
  8. Cape Town, South Africa
  9. Dubai, UAE
  10. Bora Bora, French Polynesia
