Explosion shakes Oss apartment building

The residents of an apartment building on Jakob Goldsmidstraat in Oss were woken by an explosion on Monday morning. The blast caused "considerable damage to the facade of one of the apartments", a police spokesperson said to Omroep Brabant. As far as is known, no one was hurt.

The explosion happened at around 4:30 a.m. on Monday. What exactly exploded, is being investigated. The police spokesperson could not tell the broadcaster if this was an accident or a crime. "But a few things have happened."

The resident of the affected apartment told Omroep Brabant that his front door was "blown out" in the blast. According to him, this is "the third time" something happened around his home. Previously something was thrown through his letter box into his home, and his car was vandalized.

A neighbor told the broadcaster that the number of incidents is increasing in the neighborhood. According to her, the crimes are drug related. "Living here is no longer fun."
