Police urgently looking for man in disappearance of Rotterdam girl, 12

The police released a photo of a man they are looking for in connection with the disappearance of 12-year-old Hania from Rotterdam on Thursday. Police suspect the missing girl is with this man, possibly an English-speaking person, authorities said.

If anyone spotted this man, or Hania herself, the police said on Friday that they urgently want to know about it..

Hania left her school, the Talmaschool on Vaandrigstraat in Rotterdam-Crooswijk, at around 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, telling a teacher that she had an appointment at the orthodontist. Her family called the police when she did not come home at her usual time at around 3:00 p.m.

The police are very concerned about the wellbeing of the pre-teen girl. By Friday afternoon the investigation showed that she did not have an appointment at the orthodontist and that her chat contacts were deleted.

A spokesperson for the police told RTL Nieuws that Hania's whereabouts are still completely unknown. An Amber Alert was issued for the girl, a system the police use when they fear someone is in life-threatening danger. A team of 30 officers are working on finding her.

Hania is 1.7-meters tall and has dark brown hair and brown eyes. At the time of her disappearance she was wearing a white dress with a flower print, white leggings, white shoes, a black jacket, and a pink backpack.
