Shots fired during jewelry store robbery in Breda

Multiple shots were fired during a jewelry store robbery on Parkstraat in Breda on Wednesday. A staff member of the store sustained a head injury, though the police told NU.nl that the employee was not hit by a bullet.

The robbery was committed by four armed persons at around 11:00 a.m., according to the newspaper. Afterwards the robbers were driven away in a passenger car. The car was later found in a parking lot on Nieuwe Ginnekenstraat, a few streets away from the store.

A trauma helicopter was dispatched to treat the injured employee, but he was eventually taken to hospital by ambulance. The employee is in a stable condition. How he sustained his head injury is not clear.

Multiple people were in the jewelry store at the time of the robbery. They were offered support by the police.
