Victim of Oss shooting identified as "hardworking" entrepreneur

The victim of a fatal shooting in Oss on Monday morning was identified by local media as 43-year-old Hakan Zatsan. The man had no criminal record, owned a company that specializes in the development and repair of cleaning systems, and also sponsored clothing for the youth of TOP Oss for years. "Hakan was a very sweet, hardworking man who would not hurt a fly", a family member said to Brabants Dagblad.

Zatsan was gunned down outside his home on Anna Bijnstraat at around 7:45 a.m. on Monday. He was alone at the time, according to the police. Local residents heard multiple gun shots and then saw a car speed away. Zatsan died at the scene.

According to his family member, Zatsan was  well loved in the Turkish community. "He, his wife and children are such lovely people", the family member said to the newspaper. "They did not deserve this."

On Monday afternoon the police raided the home of the man suspected of shooting Zatsan. The 59-year-old suspect was found seriously injured inside. The police believe he attempted suicide.

According to newspaper AD, the suspect is a former business partner of Zatsan. In 2007 the victim and suspect started company Cleaning Solutions together. At the end of 2012 it came to a break, partly due to bickering about the private use of a company debit card, according to the newspaper. Conflict between the two about money and shares have since ended up in court multiple times.
