No trains to Schiphol next weekend
Schiphol will be inaccessible by train on January 19th and 20th, due to ProRail doing work on the rails around the airport. NS will deploy buses to transport passengers on those days, NU.nl reports.
ProRail will start working on the rails next week Thursday. During the first two days, trains from Amsterdam will still be able to reach Schiphol. But not on Saturday and Sunday, January 19th and 20th.
During all four days of rail works, there will be no trains but buses on the Schiphol Airport - Leiden route. And the intercity direct will not run on the Amsterdam Central Station - Rotterdam Central Station route. On Saturday and Sunday, buses instead of trains will run on the Amsterdam Sloterdijk / Amsterdam Zuid - Schiphol route, and on the Diemen Zuid - Duivendrecht route.
ProRail will work in dozens of places on the rails, sleepers, points, overhead lines and electricity supply at Schiphol Airport station.
