Belgian men sentenced to 5 years for gang-raping Dutch women
Four Belgian men were sentenced to five years in prison for gang raping two Dutch women for hours in an Antwerp hotel in March of this year. One of the men took the Dutch women, aged 21 and 22 years, to his hotel room on Mechelseplein after a night in a nightclub, after which he and his friends raped them, RTL Nieuws reports.
The women believed that they had been drugged, but no evidence of this was found during the investigation. It was determined that the women had drunk a lot and had traces of cocaine in their systems.
DNA traces of three of the four men were found in the women. The fourth suspect only molested them. One of the women's iPhone was also stolen, and 100 euros was taken out of their wallets. The four men, aged between 20 and 23 years, asked for acquittal, saying the sex was consensual.
The two Dutch women will each receive almost 12 thousand euros in compensation.
