The police arrested a man on Monday suspected of involvement in the death of a 22-year-old woman in Hilversum last week. The young woman was f on July 9th.

No further details were revealed about the suspect, as he is in restricted custody. This means that he is only allowed contact with his lawyer and the authorities.

Emergency services responded to the villa on Waldecklaan at around 11:15 a.m. on July 9th after a report of a suspicious situation. The fire brigade entered first, because a hissing sound could be heard and there were concerns of a gas leak. When the firefighters concluded that this was not the case, the police entered and found the young woman's body. "She was killed by violence", the police said in a statement on Monday.

The police believe that the motive for the young woman's murder may be in the "relational sphere", but the investigation is still ongoing.
