A man was seriously hurt in a shooting in a chalet on Berkenlaan in Zutphen on Sunday night. He was rushed to the academic hospital in Nijmegen in critical condition, under police escort, De Stentor reports.

The shooting happened around 9:10 p.m., in a chalet located in a residential area and right next to the Baudartius College location on Berkenlaan. The perpetrators fled in a black car. So far nothing is known about the background of the incident.

The police closed down the area around the chalet, where forensic investigators performed an investigation. The victim's wife was questioned, according to the newspaper.
