Temps below -10 measured for first time this winter
Just two days before the start of meteorological spring, temperatures in the Netherlands dropped to below -10 degrees for the first time this winter. A minimum of -10.1 was measured in Eindhoven overnight, Weeronline and Weerplaza report.
Temperatures below -10 degrees Celsius are considered severe frost. Leeuwarden and Enschede also came close to the severe frost line, with overnight temperatures of -9.5 and -9.6 respectively, according to Weerplaza.
More places in the country will see minimum temperatures below -10 degrees in the coming nights, according to Weeronline.
The last severe frost in the Netherlands was on January 23rd, 2017, measured at the weather station in Twente.
