Public memorial for former PM Lubbers in Rotterdam on Monday
Those who want to say their final goodbyes to former Prime Minister Ruud Lubbers, can do so at the Catholic Laurentius and Elisabeth Cathedral in Rotterdam on Monday. The doors will be open to the public between 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., government information service Rijksvoorlichtingsdients announced.
A private memorial will be held in the same church on Tuesday, after which Lubbers will be buried.
Ruud Lubbers died on Wednesday at the age of 78. He had been ill for some time. He died in the presence of his wife and children in his hometown of Rotterdam.
Lubbers (CDA) was Prime Minister of the Netherlands from 1982 to 1994. He led three cabinets.
