Motorists warned of icy roads during morning rush hour
Motorists across the Netherlands are warned to drive carefully during morning rush hour. The roads may be icy and slippery due to wet areas freezing overnight, according to meteorological institute KNMI.
A code yellow warning was issued for the entire country. "Chance of slipperiness. All road users may be affected. Adjust your driving behavior. Follow weather reports and warnings", the KNMI writes. The iciness will melt away during the course of the morning.
Friday is expected to be sunny in most of the Netherlands, with only the north of the country seeing some clouds, according to Weeronline. Afternoon temperatures will rise to between 6 and 8 degrees. Saturday will start out cloudy, with mist expected in some areas, but the sun will break through during the course of the morning. Sunday is expected to be cloudy, but dry.
