Amsterdam IKEA damaged in ATM bombing
Considerable damage was done to an IKEA store on Hullenbergweg in Amsterdam Zuidoost when thieves tried to blow open an ATM on Friday morning, AT5 reports.
The perpetrators forced open an window and detonated an explosive at the ATM at around 4:10 a.m. on Friday. It seems that the machine wasn't actually blown open, and that the thieves did not get away with any money. But the damage to the store is considerable, according to the local broadcaster.
The police are doing a forensic investigation at the scene. The store has many surveillance cameras, the footage of which will form part of the investigation.
