Man found dead in car on Enschede street

The body of a man was found in a car at the crossing of Brinkstraat and Palembangstraad in Enschede early on Friday morning, the Enschede police reported on Twitter. Investigators are at the scene.

According to newspaper Tubantia, the car, a green Renault Laguna, stood in the middle of the street when the body was found. A forensic investigation was launched at the scene around 3:00 a.m.

This area of Enschede was also in the news last year, when shots were fired with an automatic firearm at shisha lounge LuxXx in September. No one was injured, but the mayor decided to close the shisha lounge for three months. In November there was a fire at the shisha lounge, which later turned out to be arson, according to the newspaper.
