Horse raped by person for second time seriously injured, euthanized

A mare in Beetsterzwaag was raped by a person for the second time on Sunday night. The horse was injured to such an extent that she had to be euthanized. A Friesland resident, who asked to remain anonymous, offered a reward of 3 thousand euros for the tip that leads to the arrest of the "psychopath" that caused such suffering, AD reports.

Owner Mirjam Scholte of IJslanderstal Thrastar can not believe what happened to mare Aska. "I have never heard of anything so bizarre. You sometimes see it on TV or in horror films and I can hardly believe that this is now happening to us." Words fail her when she think about the person who did this "He must have been in her up to his armpits and carried on with a stick far into her bowels. In addition to her blood, a lot of his blood was found in Aska. And semen. Because of that, there are a lot of DNA traces, I learned from the police who are on top of the case."

Scholte immediately knew that something was wrong when she arrived at the paddock on Monday morning. "I saw two red dog leashes hanging from the fence. For small dogs or puppies. In the paddock was a car tire with two straps and a beer bottle." She immediately thought back to the previous time Aska was sexually assaulted, in August last year. Then too a car tire and dog leashes were left behind. She thinks the perpetrator used the tire and leashes to bind her back legs, so she wouldn't kick him.

She calls the reward "heart-warming". Scholte was first scared that it was some kind of sick joke. "I forwarded the mail to the Leeuwarder Courant. They contacted the sender of the message and then placed the news on their site. I assume they checked it out."

Scholte has no idea who would do something so awful. As far as she is aware, she has no enemies.
