Bandanna, gloves found in search for missing Friesland teen
A number of items were found in the search for missing 18-year-old Remon Bruinsma in Leeuwarden on Tuesday, including a bandana that looks like the one Remon liked to wear. Searchers also found a cellphone battery and a pair of gloves, though it is not yet clear whether these belong to the missing teenager from De Westereen in Friesland, the Telegraaf reports.
Remon went out with friends in Leeuwarden on Thursday night. The plan was that he would spend the night with a friend in the Friesland city, and then go home by train on Friday morning. But he disappeared early on Friday morning. His friends lost sight of him while moving from one pub to the next.
Over the past days the police searched Leeuwarden and its canals using sniffer dogs, boats and a helicopter with a thermal imager, but to no avail. On Tuesday Remon's friends joined the search through Leeuwarden. The search is mainly focused on the city's canals. Leeuwarden city center has many canals and the police believe it plausible that the teen fell into one.
