Police fire shots during fight on Groningen market

The police fired shots on the Grote Markt in Groningen on Wednesday morning after a man with a firearm drew their attention. This happened while the police were trying to break up a fight. No one was injured, NU.nl reports.

At this stage it seems that the fight and the armed man are separate incidents, according to the police. The officers were busy breaking up the fight when they noticed the man with the firearm. The suspects involved in the fight and the armed man were all arrested.

The police are investigating.
