Student paralyzed after random Groningen shooting
A 21-year-old student was shot "out of nowhere" in Groningen over the weekend, the police revealed on Opsporing Verzocht on Tuesday. He was seriously injured and will be paralyzed for the rest of his life.
The victim was shot on Korreweg around 5:00 a.m. on Sunday morning. He was cycling when he was surrounded by three men. One of them fired a shot. The victim was hit, but managed to run away. As he fled, more shots were fired at him. The police believe that the young man was coincidentally involved in the incident - that he was a random victim.
The student was hit several times. Due to his injuries, he is now paralyzed from the waist down.
A 19-year-old man from Groningen was arrested. The police are looking for other two perpetrators.
The police call on witnesses to come forward.
