Today may be hottest August 29th ever in Netherlands
Today is expected to be the first tropically warm day in the Netherlands since July 19th, according to Weeronline. Temperatures in Zeeland, Noord-Brabant, Limburg and the Achterhoek are expected to range between 30 and 32 degrees.
And with a maximum temperature of around 29 degrees expected in De Bilt, today stands a good chance of breaking the record for the hottest August 29th since temperature measurements started. The previous record dates back to 1930, when 29.3 degrees were measured in De Bilt.
Those who want to escape the tropical heat today, can go to the Dutch beaches, where fine weather is expected. Afternoon temperatures along the coast will range between 24 and 27 degrees, with a cool southwesterly wind blowing.
Temperatures will drop tonight with clouds and rain heading into the country. On Wednesday a cold front will draw slowly from the west to east across the Netherlands. The day will be cloudy with a chance of rain and thunderstorms.
