Mother questioned in 8 year old girl's fatal fall
The mother of 8-year-old Sharleyne, who fell to her death from an apartment building in Hoogeveen in 2015, was recently questioned in the criminal investigation into the girl's death, the Public Prosecutor said to Dagblad van het Noorden.
The girl lived with her mother on the 10th floor of the apartment building. She was found dead on the ground in front of the building on June 8th, 2015. The other was arrested, but there was not enough evidence to hold her. Sharleyne's father turned to the court, who decided that a criminal investigation should be launched into how the girl died.
The mother and some other people were recently questioned, the Prosecutor said to the newspaper. The Prosecutor would not say what was said. Last month the authorities called for witnesses to come forward. Whether new witnesses reported is unclear.
Sharleyne's father also filed a lawsuit against the child protection services, because he believes they failed to intervene in his daughter's home situation while it was clearly necessary.
