Witnesses sought in early morning shooting at Amstelveen apartment building; one hurt

The police are looking for witnesses to a shooting that left one man injured in an apartment building in Amstelveen on Wednesday morning. No arrests were made.

The shooting happened around 3:30 a.m. in the Ararat apartment building on In de Wolken in the Groenelaan neighborhood, according to RTV Amstelveen. The circumstances around the shooting are still unclear.

A trauma team responded to the scene and rushed the victim to hospital. The extent of his injuries was not revealed.

A burning car was found on Nieuwenhuisjenlaan later on Wednesday morning, according to the broadcaster. The police are investigating whether it is related to the shooting.
