Video: Stray bull running loose in Amsterdam escaped local slaughterhouse
A bull escaped from a slaughterhouse on Jan van Galenstraat in Amsterdam-West on Friday morning and roamed the streets of te city for around 30 minutes. The animal was finally caught by the police and a veterinarian, who lured him back into captivity using a cow, AT5 reports.
"The beast walked into the cattle trailer, where we had a 'bait cow', without detours. Amsterdam-West is safe again", the police said on Twitter. Using the cow was the vet's idea. "Such a bull is full of hormones, sow when we had a cow in the trailer, he went in without complaint." a spokesperson said to NOS.
Various media sources report that the bull was taken back to the slaughterhouse. A police spokesperson could not confirm this to AT5. But I fear the worst", he said.
The bull caused a few problems in the city on Friday mornings. Tram traffic on Burgemeester De Vlugtlaan had to be redirected after the bull was spotted there.
