Pedestrian critically injured in Arnhem hit-and-run; perpetrator at large

A pedestrian was critically injured in a hit-and-run accident in Arnhem on Thursday night. The driver fled the scene and is still at large, the Gelderlander reports.

The accident happened around 11:30 p.m. on the corner of Velperweg and Arbeidstraat. Witnesses told the police that the man was hit by a white Mercedes. The police call on local residents to keep an eye out for the car and to contact them with any information that could help track the driver down.

The pedestrian was rushed to the hospital. His condition is unknown.

The police did a trace evidence investigation at the scene.
