Suspected Al-Shabaab terrorists remanded in Dutch court hearing

A 22-year-old suspected Al-Shabaab terrorist arrested in Sint-Oedenrode last week, was remanded into custody for 14 days by the court in Rotterdam on Wednesday, Omroep Brabant reports.

A SWAT team arrested two men on Schinjdelseweg in Sint-Oedenrode last week Wednesday on suspicion of involvement in terrorism. The arrests were made based on information from intelligence service AIVD. One suspect, a 21-year-old Dutch-Somali, was released the following day. He remains a suspect.

According to AIVD information, the 22-year-old suspect - also a Dutch-Somali, though currently living in England - became an active member of terrorist organization Al-Shabaab last year. He was visiting his 21-year-old friend in Sint-Oedenrode when they were arrested.
