Paul Verhoeven's next movie to be about a lesbian nun

Dutch director Paul Verhoeven plans to make another movie in France next year. The working tile for the film is Blessed Virgin and it is about the life of a lesbian nun who lived in the Renaissance, AD reports.

The film is based on the book Immodest Acts by Judit C. Brown. It is about nun Benedetta Carlini who lived in a monastery in Italy in the Renaissance. The book is based on investigations in Florence's archives. Belgian actress Virginie Efira is rumored for the leading role.

For the project Verhoeven is again working with production company SBS Productions, with whom he made the thriller Elle. That film was selected for the Cannes league and won dozens of prizes, including two Golden Globes.
