Dutch man wakes up wounded on the street; can't remember what happened

A 46-year-old man woke up wounded on the street in Terneuzen on Tuesday night with no idea what happened to him. The police are looking for witnesses.

The 46-year-old man went for a walk at around 7:30 p.m., something he does on a regular basis. Then he woke up near a pedestrian crossing on Rooseveltlaan with a massive headache and a bleeding injury on his upper body.

He tried to stumble home, but couldn't manage to do so. He therefore knocked on the door of a nearby acquaintance, who called an ambulance. This happened around 8:15 p.m.

The man was taken to a hospital, where he underwent surgery. He will be hospitalized for some time yet.

Like the victim, the police have no idea what happened to this man. They call on witnesses to come forward.
