Police officers attacked by Breda men at Carnival celebration

Two police officers were attacked by two men from Breda while trying to break up a fight during Carnival celebrations in Prinsenbeek, the police said in a statement.

Around 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday two cycling police officers noticed a woman attacking a doorman in a bar on Markt in Prinsenbeek. The two officers intervened and tried to arrest the 25-year-old woman. She completely lost it, according to the police.

Two men interfered with the arrest and attacked the cops. One of the police officers was hit so hard that his helmet broke.

The police managed to arrest all three suspects, the 25-year-old woman from Prinsenbeek and two men from Breda age 20 and 31 years. They were taken to the police detention center and are in custody for questioning.

Both police officers pressed assault charges.
