Hieronymus Bosch exhibit nabs museum excellence global award
The Noordbrabants Museum and the Museo del Prado together won the prestigious Global Award for Fine Art for the exhibition "Hieronymus Bosch - Visions of a Genius", which celebrated the 150th anniversary of the Dutch artist's death last year, Omroep Brabant reports.
The museums in Den Bosch and Madrid shared a large part of the exhibition. The two art institutions won in the category "Renaissance, baroque, old masters, dynasties - solo artist". Noordbrabants Museum director Charles de Mooij received the award in New York.
The Noordbrabants Museum is thereby the first Dutch museum to win a Global Fine Art award. The prize is awarded annually to the best exhibitions around the world.
