Zaandam drug ring busted; five arrests made

Five men were arrested in Zaandam for possessing and dealing hard drugs, the police said on Tuesday. This investigation was launched after the police received multiple reports of drug problems from an apartment in a building on Peperstraat.

The police searched the apartment and found a firearm and a quantity of hard drugs packaged for sale. The investigation led officers to the five men in question.

Four of the suspects were arrested and released after questioning. A 25-year-old from Zaandam is still in custody. The drugs were confiscated and destroyed.

The landlord of the apartment evicted the tenant.
