Water main break floods parts of Tilburg

A water main break on Grootvenstraat left parts of Tilburg flooded and numerous households without water on Friday morning. How many households are affected is unclear, Omroep Brabant reports.

The break happened around 3:45 a.m. on the industrial terrain Kraaiven. Grootvenstraat and IJpelareweg are flooded up to Kraaivenstraat. These streets are closed to car traffic. The cause of the break is unclear.

Large parts of the city have no water or weak water pressure due to the break in the water mains. Some people may get brown water, according to Brabant water. The company advises local residents not to use boilers, geysers, washing machines and dishwashers until water pressure returned to normal.

A bystander told Omroep Brabant that the leak is already closed. By 7:00 a.m. some people had water again. Brabant Water hopes to have all problems resolved around 8:15 a.m.

Geen/minder water in Tilburg door lek. Wij werken hard aan de oplossing. Blijf op de hoogte via waterstoring.nl.
