Enschede school employee suspended on child sex abuse charges
A 30-year-old teaching assistant at Het Relief school in Enschede was suspended with immediate effect after the parents of a 15-year-old student accused him of sexually abusing their son, AD reports.
The teaching assistant was a confidant of the boy in question and maintained contact with him even after he went to secondary school, according to the newspaper. Late last year the parents noticed something was amiss with their son. He showed increasingly angry behavior and often had meltdowns. When the parents searched his phone, they found all sorts of "sex traffic" between their son and the 30-year-old man. "They apparently had a sexual relationship", according to the parents.
The boy's parents immediately went to the police and pressed charges against the teaching assistant. According to them, the teaching assistant admitted to the abuse.
The school immediately suspended the teaching assistant. The man himself was not available to comment to AD.
