Musician fined for impromptu performance on Dutch train
Musician Nathan Dillen was give a 380 euro fine for making music on a train from Amsterdam to his hometown of Kampen on Friday, RTL Nieuws reports.
The musician was heading home on the train with his brother when some fellow travelers asked if he would play them something on his clarinet. He did so with pleasure and, according to a friend on Facebook, the other passengers seemed to appreciate the music.
But when switching trains at a station in Almere, a security guard stopped Dillen. There was a discussion on the platform and the police were called in. Exactly what was said is unclear, but it ended with Dillen being fined 380 euros and missing his next train. A friend had to come pick him up at the station.
The musician has no intention of paying the fine, RTL Nieuws reports.
