Auto thief strikes when driver goes to pee while car warms up

Tuesday morning was a tough one for Jacques Snep from Vught. He turned on his wife's car to warm up so he can pick her up at the airport, went back into the house for a pee and came back out to find the car stolen, Omroep Brabant reports.

Snep left the car running to let the frosted over windows thaw a bit. He went inside to find a scraper, and as he was driving all the way to Zaventem airport, decided to go pee before the trip. In the bathroom he heard a car drive off. His neighbor, he thought.

Not his neighbor, Snep found as he went back outside. "Then you stand shocked when your car is no longer standing in the driveway."

Wife Ans called to find out why he wasn't at Zaventem to pick him up, worrying that something awful happened. She was therefore not to upset about the stolen car. "It was also our on fault", she said to the broadcaster.
