Arrest made in vicious assault of prostitute in 2008

The police arrested a 29-year-old man from Groningen on Tuesday on suspicion of aggravated assault on a prostitute in 2008. This investigation was recently reopened after a new development in the case, GIC reports.

On October 22nd, 2008 a 21-year-old prostitute was violently assualted by a client. The woman was beaten several times with an unknown object. She sustained a serious head wound and a shattered figner. After attacking her, the perpetrator ran off with the money she had earned that day.

Opsporing Verzocht discussed this case last week. It is unclear whether this arrest was made based on a tip.
