False fire alarm halts train traffic to Schiphol
Train traffic between Schiphol Airport and Amsterdam was halted for some time on Monday due to fire alarms. The alarms turned out to be false and train traffic is now slowly resuming, though travelers still have to take delays into account, according to NS.
"There were two reports of smoke In the tunnel and on platform three", a spokesperson for the safety office said to NU.nl. "Our hypothesis is that the smoke came from a braking train."
The platforms that were closed were released again just after 11:00 a.m. and train traffic is slowly returning to its usual schedule. Delays are still likely.
