Pegida parades blackface Zwarte Piet through Amsterdam's most diverse neighborhoods

Right-wing grop Pegida decided to protest against Amsterdam's decision not to allow blackface makeup at its Sinterklaas party by parading Zwarte Pieten in blackface makeup through some of Amsterdam's most ethnically diverse neigborhoods.

On Facebook and YouTube Pegida posted a video of a traditional Zwarte Pieten through a shopping center in Reigerbos. Accordiing to the group, they got many postive reactions. "At a school adjascent to the shopping center a bunch of children came runnning towards us screaming. Zwarte Piet, Zwarte Piet, can we have pepernoten", the group writes on Facebook. Pepernoten is a Dutch cookie.

Pegida plans to pop up with blackface Zwarte Pieten at various places throughout the Netherlands on December 5th.
