New Oranje football kit revealed, mercilessly mocked
Rumours on social media say that Dutch football team Oranje is getting a new kit, and this time the kit is not in the well-loved bright orange... sort of. In reality, the design is a study and rendering from freelance graphic designer FC Design.
His kit is made to look like an oil painting, with brushwork reminiscent of Vincent van Gogh. While this seems like a nice idea, the picture of the proposed jersey was not well received on social media.
Twitter users so far likened the new jersey to the hairy torso of a Sasquatch, digestive biscuits and vomit. "Hey Nike, what the fuck have you done to the Holland kit? You can't do that! Fix it." one tweeter wrote. Another describes it as "amazingly horrendous".
According to ESPNFC, neither Dutch football association KNVB nor kit supplier Nike have confirmed interest in the new kit. And it seems that most fans are hoping that Oranje remains orange.
