Footage released of fight preceding fatal Amsterdam shooting
The police released video footage of a fight that preceded a shooting on Jan Evertsenstraat that left 44-year-old Akan Aradas dead and his two friends injured on October 8th. The police hope that information from the public will lead to the shooter's arrest and offered a reward of 15 thousand euros for the golden tip.
The shooting happened around 3:45 a.m. in front of Cafe Ulfet 2 on the corner of Admiraal de Ruijterweg and Jan Evertsenstraat. Aradas was killed. Two other men, age 50 and 44 years, were injured. According to the police, this seems to be a fight that got out of hand. The police emphasize that this does not seem to be a gang war assassination - neither Aradas or his friends have criminal records.
The man who the three friends got into an argument with called himself Youssef. The police's priority is to arrest the perpetrator, who may be dangerous. He is between the ages of 20 and 30 years, between 1.7 and 1.8 meters tall and may be Moroccan. At the time of the shooting he was wearing a long, dark jacket, jeans and dark colored shoes with light soles.
Opsporing Verzocht paid attention to this case on Tuesday.
