Sexual affair leads to Dutch ambassador's suspension

The Dutch ambassador in Beijing, China was suspended due to a sexual affair with a Chinese woman, the Telegraaf reports. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is investigating. According to the newspaper, the affair between ambassador Ron Keller and the Chinese woman was discovered only recently. The woman also works at the Dutch embassy in Beijing. The newspaper's sources state that Keller received the woman at his official residence several times, after the two exchanged nude photos. Keller has been in China for less than a year, succeeding Aart Jacobi as ambassador in December. Before that he was ambassador in Turkey, Russia and Ukraine. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed to the newspaper that an investigation was launched "after a complaint". He will not work in China while the investigation is ongoing. "We always take complaints seriously. Careful handling of these ensures that we can not make any further statements." a spokesperson said to the newspaper.
