Labour wants to scrap healthcare deductibles by increasing taxes
The PvdA wants to charge everyone 1 percent more tax and use that money to scrap own risk deductibles in healthcare, a spokesperson confirmed to NU.nl. This point will be in the labour party's campaign for next year's elections.
Henk Nijboer, who is on the PvdA's election committee, calls it a "fair and inclusive choice". People with higher incomes contribute more than people with low incomes. And healthcare remains accessible and affordable for everyone, Nijboer says.
Getting rid of the own risk excess in healthcare would cost 4.5 billion euros, according to the Central Planning Bureau.
Other parties also want to abolish healthcare deductibles, including the SP, PVV, 50Plus and GroenLinks.
