Arrest made in Helmond robbery that killed Mien Graveland, 86

A 24-year-old man from Schiedam was arrested in the investigation into a violent robbery in Helmond in August 2014. Mien Graveland, 86, was killed in the robbery, NOS reports. The robbery happened on August 29th, 2014. A number of men tricked their way into Mien's home by pretending to be employees of energy company Oxxio. They there tied her up, severely assaulted her, stole a number of items and left her there. Mien's son found her hours later and rushed her to the hospital. She died the same night. According to the broadcaster, three Helmond men were previously arrested in this case. They were since released, but remain suspects. The connection between the latest suspect and the previous three is unclear. The police know, but can't comment as the case is still ongoing.
