Work for freelancers up 2.9 percent

Job opportunities for temporary workers and freelancers increased by 2.9 percent in the second quarter, compared to the first quarter of this year, Statistics Netherlands said on Wednesday. This involves an increase in hours on both short- and long-term contracts. This increase puts an end to the decline of more than 1 percent the staffing market showed in the first three months of this year. The number of hours for long-term contracts, like in staffing and payroll, increased by 3.1 percent. The number of hours in short-term contracts rose 2.7 percent.
